Whats a good way to start off the new year? Cleaning out the refrigerator!

Most of the resolutions we hear are about healthy eating . A good way to get started is to empty out the refrigerator. There are two good reasons why, 1. We empty out all the "goodies" that can hinder our nutritional goals and 2. We get a chance to throw away everything else - leftovers, food containers, zip lock bags filled with greasy turkey legs and the list goes on..- to be able to clean it out and organize it.
Here are a few tips to help you tackle the task of cleaning out this invaluable storage space.

Things you'll need: baking soda or vinegar, washcloths and water. Soapy water is fine too.

1) Remove everything from the inside of your refrigerator and place everything on counter or table.

2)  Take a large trash bag and throw away anything that's rotten, spoiled and items that you no longer use.

3) Remove storage drawers, these can be washed in the sink. Use a washcloth with the baking soda mixed with water and start wiping the inside working from top to bottom left to right. rinse with a rinsed washcloth in water.

4) Use old fashioned baking soda to keep your refrigerator smelling fresh.
